Popover
Add small overlays of content, like those on the IOS, to any element for housing secondary information.
Enable popovers
Initialize all popovers on a page:
$(function () {
$('[data-toggle="popover"]').popover()
})
Using the container
option:
$(function () {
$('.example-popover').popover({
container: 'body'
})
})
Examples
Buttons powered by popovers:
<button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-container="body" data-toggle="popover" data-placement="top" data-content="Vivamus sagittis lacus vel augue laoreet rutrum faucibus.">
Popover on top
</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-container="body" data-toggle="popover" data-placement="right" data-content="Vivamus sagittis lacus vel augue laoreet rutrum faucibus.">

</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-container="body" data-toggle="popover" data-placement="bottom" data-content="Vivamus

Dismiss on next click
Use the focus
trigger to dismiss popovers on the user’s next click of a different
element than the toggle element.
<a tabindex="0" class="btn btn-lg btn-danger" role="button" data-toggle="popover" data-trigger="focus" title="Dismissible popover" data-content="And here's some amazing content. It's very engaging. Right?">Dismissible popover</a>
